This book is on my short list, thanks for bumping it to the top! I'm currently wrapping up American Flannel. Over on Medium I've got a list of fashion/culture books I've been reading if you're interested: https://medium.com/@mjfreshyfresh/fabric-of-society-a-rich-collection-of-fashion-culture-and-lifestyle-content-fea572cf56f4

I went to buy it on Amazon but many reviews mention the poor photo quality (like it was scanned in and printed on cheap paper). Was this your experience?

I don’t have an issue with it! The book was published in 1965, so naturally, by today’s standards, it might not be the best quality. But in my opinion, that actually adds to its overall aesthetic. I also loved how the photos look—they have such a timeless charm!
